Contratto Aperitif is a Torino style Italian liqueur- a distilled spirit-based beverage that is flavored with aromatic herbs, flowers and roots such as gentian root. The bitter note is balanced with the addition of sugar (250 grams per liter). The ABV is 13.5%. The combination of herbs is known to offer therapeutic qualities and assist in stimulating the appetite. The base spirit for Aperitif is brandy distilled from Barbera grapes. Over 40 botanicals are used in Aperitif's proprietary blend including: aloe, angelica, wormwood, safflower, cinchona bark, bitter and sweet orange, lemon, hawthorn, gentian root, juniper, mint, rhubarb, sage, and nettle.
