La Spinetta Langhe Nebbiolo is 100% Nebbiolo from vines in the famed Starderi cru in the Nieve comune of Barbaresco.  Giorgio will only make Barbaresco from old vines, and this usually means 30 years and older.  At five to seven years in age these vines don't make the Barbaresco cut, but do make an exceptional Langhe Nebbiolo.  The dense, sensual and powerful fruit of the Starderi vineyard is on full display in the wine, the tannins are softer and at lower concentrations due to the age of the vine, yielding a very drinkable and delicious Nebbiolo.  Aged only 12 months in French barrique leaves the wine more juicy fruit and supple nature.  This is an eminently enjoyable wine and will grab Pinot Noir lovers as well with it's elegance, cherry fruit, spice and more generous nature.
