5.5 Ha holdings in Ginestra vineyard planted in 1965 to 1970, Monforte d’Alba commune. One of Monforte’s most famous vineyards located on an east-west ridge with steep south and southwest exposures. Helvetian formation soil that is extremely poor with a thin top layer. Clay is beige in color, very dusty and compact. Parental rock is limestone mixed with sandstone and clay. The tannic structure in this wine is tremendous with garnet color and dark fruit. Fermented on the skins for 20 to 30 days, aged 30 months in barrique, low toast, 80% new. Production: 20,000 bottles.
