José Carlos Alvarez worked as researcher
for the D.O. Ribera del Duero for four and
half years prior to becoming the general
manager of the Consejo Regulador of
Ribera del Duero - position which he held
for two and half years. Following his work
for the D.O., José Carlos became the head
winemaker for the wineries Bodegas Emilio
Moro and Cepa 21 where he remained for
8 and half years. Many other ventures led
José Carlos to the most important
development of his career, founding his
own winery Bodegas Convento de las
Claras.
