0.8 Ha holdings in Cerretta vineyard, planted in 1970, Serralunga d’Alba commune. A highly prized vineyard site on Serralunga’s eastern slope. Luigi Baudana’s holdings have both a southwest and southeast exposure. Classic Serralunga soil of Helvetian formation. It has very thin and poor topsoil, parental rock is limestone at a very high percentage mixed with yellow sand. Ripening is slowed in these soils and harvest typically occurs later in October. The wine is fermented partially in oak and stainless steel for 30 days, cap will be submerged in great vintages, punch downs occur by hand. Aged 36 months in Slavonian cask and French barrique. Production 3,600 bottles.
