90POINTS - ROBERT PARKER'S THE WINE ADVOCATE [Read More]
The 2003 Vin Santo Bianco dell’Empolese offers up caramel, honey, candied orange peel, cloves, cinnamon and tobacco in a fairly rich style. Pretty oxidative aromas add complexity, but there is never the sense of excess heat that plagues so many dessert wines in 2003. The lushness and generosity flows through nicely to the round, enveloping finish. This, too, is another superb effort from Piazzano. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.
Piazzano is an excellent source for bold wines loaded with fruit.
Amber yellow; hints of dried fruits and spices; Smooth full bodied taste, with very persistent after taste.
