This is one of the worlds great wines. Moscato comes in many forms, many of which are low grade, sweet and alcoholic. But in and around the villages of Castagnole Lanze and Castagnole Tinella Moscato d'Asti can be produced with great fineness and balance. When the yields are low and the wine is fermented over a long cool period, preserving aromas, you have one of the most deliciously aromatic wines produced in the world. La Spinetta's has taken Moscato to new heights, the balance of acidity and sweetness is brilliant and the creamy texture next to the crisp apple, apricot and peach flavors is mouthwatering. When you drink the first bottles of the fresh vintage and the frizzante is a little extra firm, you just can't stop! A great seasonal dessert is July peaches macerated with a little sugar and Moscato d'Asti - served with icy cold Moscato a'Asti.
La Spinetta produces two single vineyard Moscato d'Asti - Biancospino and Bricco Quaglia. Both are produced in the same way, Biancospino is bottled and released first and Bricco Quaglia bottled and released second. This allows fresh and vibrant Moscato d'Asti to be available to the market though out the year from La Spinetta.
