Clerico’s Dolcetto comes from vineyards in the Monforte and Dogliani communes of the Barolo area. It's a strong wine that showcases the deep color and strong tannin that Dolcetto from Monforte can possess blended with the expressive aromatics that wines from Dogliani are famous for. The appellation is Langhe Dolcetto and not Dolcetto d'Alba since some of the vineyards are outside the Dolcetto d'Alba zone. It's fermented in stainless steel and held in stainless tanks for 10 months. This is our most muscular, deep and powerful Dolcetto in the portfolio. TASTING NOTES Deep dark blue purple center with purple rim, wild aromas of blackberry, cherry, white pepper. Dark cherry fruits follow on the palate with firm tannins; acidity is moderate. The wine is medium-plus bodied with a long, dry but fruity finish. Best served with braised meats, pastas with meats or red sauce pizzas.
