Liguria, Italy
Campogrande by Elio Altare
This tiny 2 Ha estate was established in 2008 and is the new project or 'labor of love' of Elio Altare, famous for his work in La Morra, Barolo. This part of Liguria, which has been cultivated for centuries, is so steep that it has been terraced, making mechanized harvesting and vineyard management impossible. The grapes are produced in a very small winery in the village of Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre. Bosco is the main variety with small percentages of Albarola.
