.5 Ha holdings in Roche d’Ampsej vineyard, 18 to 45 year old vines. Roche d’Ampsej is located in a national park surrounded by forests. Roero is much less developed agriculturally than Barolo. Vineyards exist in the middle of forests, in a more bio-diverse setting. The soil is composed of nearly 60% sand and the rest is silt and clay with a marlstone subsoil, which gives this Roero its atypical firmness and driving tannic backbone. Production: 9,000 bottles.
